Using spotcolors in SpectraProof is easy: Any CxF or CGATS file can be used to import measured spectral data into SpectraProof for precise spotcolor visualization. Or you can use the built-in measurement tool and directly measure spectral data in M0/M1/M2 mode in SpectraProof. All measured or imported spectral Spotcolor can be named and sorted into individual color libraries. These can then be used in SpectraProof on a customer, project, printer, ink or substrate scale, for example.

Even ramps for all spot colors can be imported in CxF or CGATS format.

The CGS CXF Color Cloud is currently supported in SpectraProof. This allows existing CGS color databases to be managed or integrated.
Everything the user can do with the CGS CxF Toolbox is stored as a result in the CGS Color Cloud. It can also be synchronized with SpectraProof.
The spectral prediction engine in SpectraProof works at its best, if there are CxF-4 color ramps that have been printed against black and against paper, ideally even against grey. If the CxF-4 data contains these ramps, SpectraProof can simulate the best overprint and mixing of spotcolors, since the opacity information for the spot colors is known.If no ramps are included, SpectraProof works on the basis of the ICC profile with a forecast of how this spotcolor will behave in this printing process. Therefore, the pure solid colour is also sufficient for a good softproof; the colour ramps are then synthesized by SpectraProof. In this way, each spotcolor can be reproduced both on its own and in combination with other spot colors as well as in combination with process colors via a spectral distribution.

Each pixel is spectrally calculated for display on the screen. SpectraProof achieves better and more accurate display than is possible with Photoshop or other softproof solutions.
